I just learned a bit by doing stuff, following Unity's own tutorials and reading the documentation.

Hard to say. It's possible, but unlikely, that anyone here has followed along with that tutorial. It's well reviewed though so that's a good sign. There are plenty of free materials out there to learn from, but sometimes a paid option is a nice to choose due to the (hopefully) higher quality.
