Hello Everyone,

I would first like to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone part of the Linus Media Group community for the time and effort to help and support new and old tech enthusiasts! Rock On!

I'm going to be building a new PC this summer for Overkill Gaming and Fast Video Editing. I have a $5,000 limit ($6,000 total  ;)) and plan on running 5 Asus PG278Qs in a portrait surround next year when prices go down farther. I will be overclocking everything in my system but would like to stay away from a full custom water loop if possible (too impatient).

This is my build so far but nothing set in stone:

Corsair Obsidian 750D

Corsair AX1500i PSU (I've had a under-powered melt down in the past)

Corsair Dominator Platinum 16gb 4x4 DDR4 3200 (with fans)

GELID Solutions GC-Extreme Thermal Compound

Corsair H110i GT Water Cooler

Intel i7 5930k Haswell-E 6-Core 3.5GHz LGA 2011v3

Asus x99-E WS LGA 2011v3 (Intel Broadwell-E and Nvidia Pascal in 2016)

5 x 140mm Noctua NF-A14 IPPC-2000rpm PWM fans

1 x 120mm Noctua NF-F12 IPPC-2000rpm PWM fans

Samsung XP941 M.2 512gb

2 x Evga GTX Titan Xs

OS Windows 10 (When its out)

120gb Samsung Evo 840 (already have)

500gb Samsung Evo 840 (already have)

2 x 1tb WD Carviar Blacks (already have)

Total Price: About $5,200 B)

If there are any suggestions, revisions and/or completely different builds any and all comments/opinions are welcome. I have two PCs under my belt but this will be my first major build! If you have and questions do not be afraid to ask!

Thank you very much for your time

Oconinater

Portrait surround , dear god please reconsider.

2 bezels interrupting fov in 3xMonitors on landscape is bad enough , but 4 of them ?

I think there are better coolers out there such as the NZXT Kraken X61 and as for the 5 monitors, I'm not sure that 2 Titan Xs can handle 5... But I don't know a whole lot about Titan Xs...

Good luck :)

@Oconinater Welcome to the forums   :D

That M.2 SSD would be RAPID. However, what about for mass storage? You could get a 1TB WD Black or something? Then you have even MORE space  B)

The 2 Titan X s are just to start the build. I currently do not own any of the Asus ROG PG278Qs at the moment.

Oh right, hahah. You could put your WD Blacks in RAID 0 maybe? (or RAID 10 but that would require 2 more drives but is a lot safer  :P)

I would call it overkill if it had an i7-5960X not a 5930k...

Very true but the average overclock you will get from the i7-5960X will lower then the i7-5930k overclock.  :P
