is G2A a legit site? if so how do I use it?

seaworthyPACMAN

Okay so I have had my pc for about 6 months and i have only bought games from Steam or Origin. recently a friend told me about G2A and its insane prices. I didn't fully trust my friend because he also pirates alot of things. I went on and noticed their insanely low prices. Watch dogs came up and it said it was $3 in some foreign country and $20 in the US. Can i buy the code from a foreign country and have it work on steam in the US. Second how do i even redeem these codes if i bought it. Please don't make fun of me if I said something wrong/stupid, I just don't want to waste my money.  Thanks!!!!!!! :D  :D  :D

P.s. i know about their protection plan.

I've used G2A for a few games. It's safe, just use G2A Shield and you'll be fine. They'll send you a code and instructions on how to redeem it.

It's a grey area, they buy keys in cheaper countries like east europe and resell them. Origin keys bought there have been banned before, steam keys have not as far as I know. Also watch out with keys that are region restricted, you'll only be able to activate those with a VPN. Here is an article on the keys that were banned some time ago: http://www.vg247.com/2015/01/28/g2a-responds-to-deactivated-far-cry-4-keys-debacle/

EA reactivated the keys. It's completely safe.

Ah that's pretty neat, I'd still say it's a grey area as g2a buys through 3rd parties and those keys may be fraudulent. I however think it's worth the risk though, I have bought keys from them myself and no hiccups yet.

If G2A is so legit then why are people on here saying you have to buy their G2A Shield protection. I will use another site that does not require me to be worried about the product.

First of all, G2A is legit and I've bought from there and whenever something didn't work I got a new key or a refund, altough it took some time. Of course if a whole batch of keys gets revoked, like what happened with FC4, it's gonna take longer but I still got a refund for that in the end.

Buy only from selected offers or sellers with a very good reputation, else leave g2aShield enabled.

If you're in the US, always pay attention if it says either US or GLOBAL in the name/description of the product.

Those will always have English language,

Multiplayer games can in theory be region locked to only connect to specific servers but if you want a 100% accurate answer for that you'll have to tell the specific game. Most games will just let you select a server yourself.

I use G2A it's so worth it. I keep shield on because I'm a scaredy cat and because why not considering the games are still far cheaper with it on. I've not yet gotten a bad key though :)

Please don't buy from G2A it's highly immoral way to save a few bucks. The keys are either taken from countries where they are cheap or stolen. This makes developers want to raise the prices of digital games in countries that can barely afford it just because the 1st world kid won't spend the extra $10 to buy a legit key.

I'm not trying to be an a**  but if they can't afford a $10 game then i don't think they could afford the hard ware to run it.

I buy all my games from g2a.com :) the new battlefield is £60... who the hell would pay 60 quid for a game. even when I bought physical copies £30 was the maximum you'd ever pay. on g2a it's £36.. still expensive though but cheaper than ea.

put it this way if g2a was dodgy then why would the likes of pewdiepie support them.. he's kind of the biggest Internet celebrity he wouldn't risk his reputation on dodgy illegal websites.

You are mostly buying from market place users.

These keys are not supplied by g2a, so if by the off chance a market place users sells you a invalid key, then you can contact g2a support because you used shield.

If you buy from one that says "G2a Selected offer" then this is a key bought directly from g2a and you don't need to worry about shield.

G2a is kinda like an ebay of keys.

Every now and then some sales go wrong on ebay...ebay is still legit and so is g2a.

honestley they should not even advertise the shield and put it in all the prices from the start. It's only 80p extra on top of the normal price.

Grainger games, cex, gamestop and GAME all sell pre owned games which the devs make absolutely no money on at all.

Moan about them before you moan about g2a.

Edit. I wonder how many stolen game discs these companies take in too........

To the op here is the proper way to use g2a.

Say if you wanted battlefield hardline.

You would go to g2a and find battlefield hardline cd key global.

Click it.
Now on the next page there will be various sellers with different ratings at the bottom like so.
WtU4KYS.png

In this case the second one from the top is the best option. Although they both have 100% rating the second has sold many more games than the first.

Always make sure you go as close as you can to the cheapest price but the best rating to.

These are market place users so make sure g2a shield is ticked, which you can see it is just above the market place users.

If you look at where the buy now is on the right you will see it says g2a selected offer.

This is directly from g2a if you don't select a market place user, you generally don't need shield for this option but i pick it any way as it's an extra 80p.

Once you go through the check out there is a payment fee of about 60p-£1 you will be able to see this fee before you pay, there are no hidden charges.

The games industry is a whole.

Developers aren't split. They develop games for various platforms.

It's only right to bring the other similar companies into play when talking about g2a.

My point is, console gets this type of stuff and it goes without a problem..why should pc be any different. Considering there are far less demos available, no refunds unless you buy from origin g2a is a nice option to have.

It's fine though, I understand your narrow mildness but like i said, look at the games industry as a whole, the way it's meant to be.

Used games are also bad but it's not something to be brought up as it is fading into obscurity. Digital games rule, even in the console world. GameStop is eventually going to die. I'm not fighting with you if GameStop is bad or not in comparison, both GameStop and G2A are shitty immoral businesses that exploit for money. Seeing people attempt to justify it boggles my mind and only shows the defender to be either stingy or ignorant of the situation. If you want to support something that hurts devolopers and key sellers and potentially people in lower income countries so you can save a few bucks that's fine, you can make your decisions. Don't try to justify it, though.

I'm not trying to justify it.

And used games are not fading at all. I come from console only last year so i know what i'm talking about.

The way devs where tackling used games was making an online pass, which you had to pay for if you bought a used game and wanted to play it online.

But console users moaned and the devs done away with it last year, just in time for next gen.

If anything used games will now be on the rise....

And don't try to justify my decision...my decision can be justified easily.

Lately, most games have been terribly optimized on pc, even on my rig.

I can't get a refund for my games, I earn a living, pay my bills and by a game every now and then.

Do you seriously think I'm going to gamble the £50 asking price of a game that has a high chance of running like shit?...no sir.

It's completely justifiable, but like i said, you're narrow minded.

As long as used games are being sold to consoles without the devs caring...then buying from g2a for pc games is absolutely justifiable...it can't be one thing for one and not the other.

I don't even know what you're saying anymore. You talk in fallacy and you claim i'm narrow-minded yet you're the one being narrow-minded.
