desertcomputer

Hey Guys, im not sure which headphone should i try, because i always have shit headphone pass down from family. I finally saved up enough money to get new headphones not necessary have a mic because you can always go buy ok strap on mic or mic stand for around 20$. Im in Australia Queensland and i usually use umart.com.au to get my computer need because it has cheaper price[Pick Up] and we dont have like Amazon and stuff like you guys in the states. I want some advice what do you guys think it good headphones if it has microphones it would be cool but sound good. You can either list the name of headphones but i looking for one which is Available in Australia because i have seen tones of video but their all like Amazon which i we dont have it Australia at the moments. Also it would nice if you have any experience with the headphone to put some word about it.

I would definitely recommend the logitech G430 gaming headset as i have much experience using it and can vogue for it's amazing surround sound experience and overall good audio quality.

-Pros

  • Great surround sound
  • Good audio quality
  • Substantial microphone
  • Extremely comfortable (This could vary as your head might have a significantly different shape than mine)
  • Washable ear cups (Very useful if the area around your ears gets sweaty after a long while of gaming)
  • USB or 3.5mm analog jacks
  • Good customer support from logitech
  • Great price
  • Gold plated internal connectors
  • Can swivel to rest comfortably on shoulders
  • Durable braided cable
  • Available in Australia

-Cons

  • Construction can feel "cheap" at times (With my experience i haven't found this to be an issue)
  • Only one color choice available
  • Drivers do not work correctly with linux

Alternatively you could get the more expensive version although it will exceed your $100 price cap, but it has all of these features and a little bit more.

Dont buy a nasty gaming headset, they have the misfortune of being shit. I miss my old WS55, it was nice, one of the few Audio technica headphones I really liked.

It's very expensive over there. What are your needs? Mostly gaming or general use?

Then I don't think you need too much. Especially since a lot of it is overpriced. :P

But I think the Audio-Technica ATH-WS55x looks like a better deal than the m20x. The m30x is where that series really starts and at $100 it's not worth it. The g430 isn't bad, or the steelseries rival 2. All 3 of these probably are more entertainment oriented. So the Audio-Technica ATH-WS55x seems like a decent bid to me.

Yeah there's nothing really good at that site. I guess the A500x if you want to spend $159 but it's all pretty meh.

Well, do anyone of guys know any good Australian based website which is reliable or any other website which reasonable priced and good?

These Shure 440 are a much better deal. You're going to want to get 840 pads when you have the cash though. They'll improve the comfort and sound of it.

This Sennheiser HD518 is also not bad but not as good of a deal as the Shures.

The original HD681 had issues with the treble. If it's the evo version I would get it.

If you are just starting with headset I would not take the plunge to more expensive headset unless you know what is on the market and what you prefer listening to.

You can still get the "budget king" of headsets even today (that are the Samson SR850s) for around 40 bucks that compare and even put out nicer sound quality then headsets five times more expensive.

It's also very moddable headset, meaning you can get a nice mic with it (and good quality).

Then you have the HyperX which come with plenty of goodies in the package if you want all round headset. Still they do come at premium price and from my point of view there are headsets out there that give more quality (such as the HD 518's from Sennheiser or the V-Modas LP's).
