Intel Core i7-5775C and Core i5-5675C

NumLock21

Intel Core i7-5775C Processor:

Starting off with the specifications, first is the flagship Core i7-5775C. The processor comes with a core clock of 3.3 GHz and 3.7 GHz turbo frequency. The chip is a quad core model with hyper threading enabled and features 6 MB of L3 cache, DDR3 memory rated at 1600 MHz native support along with the mentioned TDP of 65W.Intel Core i5-5675C Processor:

The second part is the Core i5-5675C which is a quad core model with no hyper threading support and comes with a clock speed of 3.1 GHz base and 3.6 GHz turbo frequency. The model features 4 MB of L3 cache, DDR3 1600 MHz memory support and a TDP of 65W. Both chips house the Iris Pro 6200 iGPU which is a Broadwell GT3e model featuring 48 Execution Units, 64 MB of eDRAM (L4) cache and 128-bit memory interface. Clock speeds for the iGPU on both processors was not determined in the listed specs but can be expected around the 1 GHz mark.

It's kind of interesting for intel to introduced cut down version of their cpu after devil canyon. The tdp is lower and thats a improvement, but majority of the time in order to achieve that, clock speed had be be reduced. It is also noted that the cache size has been reduced as well. Maybe broadwell has something up its sleeve that might out perform devil canyon? We will have to wait for benchmarks to find out. Now the price of these cpu dont look attractive, but if it a success, maybe Intel might start introducing midrange unlock cpus using the c suffix in the future, hopefully at a lower price point.

Low end unlock: g3258

Mid range: i5 5675c and i7 5775c

high-end: i5 4690k, i7 4790k

the second one isnt i7, its i5. and dafuq is this shit suposed to be?! we already have a 4Ghz boost, this seems like a pile of useless ive the cores arent made out of magical low Ghz beasts. or are they trying to inflate OC potential?

These are non-K SKU's or models. Most likely what big manufacturers like dell, and lenovo, are going to use on their all in ones.

Will there be broadwell equivalents to the 4690k, compatible with the z97 chipset?

I would consider getting one of these for my sisters computer if the price is the same as a i5 4690

this is replacing the K designation as it seems

The two processors which are known as Core i7-5775C and Core i5-5675C are unlocked processors even though they use the “C” series branding unlike the “K” series models which Intel had labeled on their previous unlocke processors.

65W O.o

(Honestly I'd rather keep the old 80-something watt power envelope but have more power/higher clock speed out of the box)

I just see a copy paste... no opinion no user info, I'm sort of surprised no one has started quoting the rules about posting news yet.

Who promoted this post to an article? It's pretty much a copy&paste job with the source provided but no thoughts from the OP. We have news post guidelines, is nobody reading these?

Well, I would fix that, but I promised myself that I wouldn't do memes anymore because of their demeaning nature.

I just hope Intel doesn't stick the middle finger and prohibit 8-series motherboards from running Broadwell. They should al least leave the option for motherboard makers to provide an updated BIOS

sigh wccf (I know, its official) and just a link and quote.....

please try next time.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

Why would we want to run broadwell? I see not one single reason I'd want to move from my 4770k to one of these err downgrades?

Promoting this post to an article when it doesn't even meet the news posting guidelines just basically saids that you can ignore them and do whatever the heck you like. Rules people, rules, these must be enforced, not ignored. *sigh*
