Can covered mobo slots still be used?

If someone had loads of money and bought a Rampage V Extreme and 4 980's or Titan X's, would they still be able to use a PCIe SSD? The PCIe 2.0 x16 and PCIe x1 slots would be covered, but does some kind of extender exist that would let someone put a PCIe SSD in another empty slot at the bottom if they had a big case with 10 slots? I'm just wondering, I probably won't ever have enough money for something like this.

They should screw in and still sit beneath the video cards.

Afaik this wouldn't work in a tower case. I wonder if there's anything that would work in a 900D or a caselabs something.
