Olympus Pen Lite 3(E-PL3) View finder

Go to solution Solved by Flight1sim,

Should be able to, but they are more expensive, will have to bargain a bit then

Try to find it used if you can. But make sure EVF's are even compatible and can work with your camera :D

Hi all, so I have the E-PL3 camera, and I was wondering if this specific view finder is compatible with it, I know others do exist, but they tend to be extremely expensive at S$400+

So, I was wondering if this cheaper model would work too? http://www.amazon.com/Olympus-Optical-Viewfinder-Digital-Cameras/dp/B002CGSYNA

Thanks in advance.

It's a standard Hotshoe mount, should be fine

But note, you won't be able to zoom with your lens or anything, in my opinion, its not worth it. It's designed for the 17mm Pancake lens.

Can you get an EVF for that camera?

It says it's for Olympus PEN cameras, it seems to use both the Hotshoe mount and also another connector at the front.

In my opinion, you shouldn't bother adding a Viewfinder to a Point and Shoot unless you really need it. For those prices you could go for a Canon SX series with optical viewfinders built in :P

Hmm, I already have the camera, and if it is possible to find compatible viewfinders for cheap, it is worth it, but for now I will just leave it, just needed to make sure that they were compatible if I found one at a good price, also thanks for your help!

the VF-1 works with everything, but its optical, meaning what you see in the viewfinder will never change, and not see what your camera and lens sees

Welp initially it doesn't do anything, so no it won't be an issue, the view finder being a partial optical will just somewhat help you frame the picture

Pretty good, it actually makes it easier to focus, which is a plus, haven't had the time to do a full test run with a day just walking around and shooting
