560ti is more powerful than a 6790 however 2 in crossfire match a 570 (and 2 cards look awesome)
if you want ease of use-560ti
if you want outright performance in AAA titles that are properly made (no dota 2) and scale well cf6790's

Title says it all.

This is for my old computer that I now let friends use when they are over. My dad got a pair of 6790's that would have been otherwise thrown away. Which of those will perform better? the 1 GTX 560 Ti or the pair of 6790's from Sapphire in crossfire?

This is for my old computer that I now let friends use when they are over. My dad got a pair of 6790's that would have been otherwise thrown away. Which of those will perform better? the 1 GTX 560 Ti or the pair of 6790's from Sapphire in crossfire? 

 

the 6790s AFAIK a single 6790 is faster than a 560ti

560ti is a little worse than a single 7770, so I'd imagine the dual 6790s would be better. Just try both out and compare the two setups

Is it a 560 Ti 448 core edition or just a regular 560 Ti?

If it's a regular 560 Ti then the 6790 CF may perform better sometimes, however if it's a 560 ti 448 then I'd say that the single 560 Ti 448 is  usually better than the 6790 CF.

A single 6970 Handily beats the 560Ti by a decent margin/percentage.

If it's a regular 560 Ti then the 6790 CF may perform better sometimes, however if it's a 560 ti 448 then I'd say that the single 560 Ti 448 is  usually better than the 6790 CF.

Not sure. Probably keep as backups. My house won't survive without 4 playable gaming PC's. 

The Processor is an i5 2500K with 16GB of Ram from Corsair. Don't know the numbers on it.

fair play, in a perfect world you could cf the 6790's and have the 560ti for hybrid physx...

5930k with a 560ti is a bit wierd:D why the 5930k over the 5820k btw?

Thrown away?! I'd definitely consider selling them instead of dumping them. There are probably a lot of guys out there willing to pay you AT LEAST a few bucks! ;-) and even if they're not used anymore you can still like hang them on your wall or smth :P
