Not really. I have yet to have a part die on me and I've built the same PC twice. No problems.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

I don't think it is.

I've never had a part be DOA.

Building a PC is ez pz. The DOA rate for parts is very low. Especially when it comes to RAM and CPU's.

The most difficult part is researching components to make sure they're compatible/work well/don't bottleneck. But that's what we're all here for!

Of the last 6 pc's I've built this year I've only had 1 part come even slightly not working. One of the motherboards delivered over amazon came as a 1/2 working piece of junk. Half the usb slots on the back weren't working. Of all the parts in those pc's which is closer to about 80 items now, only having 1 arrive dead is awesome. Usually you can expect about a 2% chance of something being dead when you get everything shipped.

It's not that hard but there are some easy mistakes to make when you go in unprepared.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

Technically it is until the OS installation. Get it "Hard"ware and "Soft"ware. *Ba dum tss

In all seriousness though it can seem daunting from the beginning, but as long as you take it one part at a time and test before installing everything, you should be good. As far as DOA parts, the chance is pretty low from reputable brands with decent qc. I haven't gotten a DOA part before if that's any consolation.

I have TBI and severe memory problems . I've built my last 5 comps . Like the others stated , preparation is paramount !

Define what your build will be used for .

Decide on a budget ( taking longer to get all the componants is better by far than cutting quallity in order to get it now !

Do your homework on which componants work best together .

Ask for a review "on here or elsewhere" of the componants you choose .

You Tube is your friend .

If you get stuck at any point , seek help before you do something you'll regret .

No question is stupid if you state it well with all pertinent info .

DO NOT BE IN A HURRY !

My first build was a new frightening experience for me .

After finishing it and enjoying my new comp for a week , I realized I loved building it and was proud of myself .

I had a way better comp than any I could have afforded to buy off the shelf and it cost much less .

PS- You got my first post on here :-)

Edit - As for DOAs , I had one , a keyboard . It is my personal belief that a lot of the bad reviews of products you see on sites like newegg are the result of bad handling , bad mix of parts , bad overclocking .

When you like a componant , check a lot of reviews from a lot of reputable sites , both customer and professional .

As for cable management which is fidly but not necessarily hard ( requires patience ) , watch tutorials on here and elsewhere . Prepare ahead . Have all the right tools , supplies , etc . Check the layout ahead of time , to avoid a delay while you order extenders ( that one bit me in the past ) lol .

 MSI Z97A Gaming7 , 4690k , 2 X MSI 960 4g , 500gb ssd , 7tb of WD hdd storage , EVGA 100G2 , Corsair h100i , 2 X 32" 1440p as I RMAd the 4k ones , CM quickfire .

NOW I'VE LOST IT I KNOW I CAN KILL . TRUTH IS HIDDEN BEYOND THE GATES  IT'S ALL DARKER THAN BLACK .

This ^^^^^

I have built 3 computers in the past 10 years, none have come with bad parts.  My wife built hers this past February with very little help from me.  I just told her where to plug stuff in.  She did all the rest.

A word of caution:  Building a PC can become addicting!  Keep a tight reign on that wallet of yours!!!

it's the most fun part

the hardest part is... seeing your wallet/account drain to nothing especially when you build gaming pc and only use it to browse internet or porn

I had my first DOA some time ago but I build 2/3 pc per month and it's the only one I had by buying to a local store (I got them replaced anyway ^^)

it's not really hard to build just take some time and don't plan to have it working the first time problem always happen the first time (or don't and your lucky ^^)
