Well done OP,  life is about the journey as much as it is about the end result.  You go and do what you want, not what other people tell you you can't do.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

Why?

I'm 15 and did a loop.

It's not that hard.

You did a loop on an FX 6300

He's doing a loop on Titan Xs and an I7

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

I got into water cooling when I was 15, and that was back at the beginning of

the millennium. Things were a lot more ghetto and "make-it-up-as-you-go-along"

back then, and somehow I managed not to blow up my PC (okay, I have had one

fatal leak since then, but that's just a rite of passage if you're a long-term

water cooler :D ). The water cooling market has become much more professional

since then, and there are tons of tutorials and guides available online.

It's not like water cooling is this weird sort of magic which only super

hardcore PC guys can do, it's basically just plugging together a few tubes,

connectors and components. It doesn't exactly require a degree or a genius-level

IQ to set up. As long as you do your research (buy compatible components, have a

sensible loop layout) you're usually fine.

It's certainly very expensive though, and unlike back when I started, there

are powerful and quiet air coolers (heatpipe tower coolers didn't exist yet

back then). Personally I just enjoy it and like the aesthetics, so despite

that I'm not intending to quit any time soon. :D

Yea, it's not very hard at all anymore. If you want a simple loop, that's not very complicated, it's pretty easy

I've got a load of stuff in the mail right now, and i'm only 16. It's just so expensive

Oh yes, it's an extremely effective method of torturing your wallet indeed.

wao very nice build man can you update us?

I'm still waiting for Mayhems pastel extreme and getting Haswell-e or skylake cpu and motherboard before doing the acrylic tubing. I can post more photos If you want but I'm not the greatest photographer :D

TFW I'm 24 and can't afford a build like this because bills...  <_<

Enjoy keeping most (everything?) that you make while it lasts!

Nice build though!

The only negative I have about this is why no hard lines? You went all out otherwise. Hard lines would be dope. Sweet build though. Excellent cable management.

This was my first custom water cooled build so I wanted to do soft tubing first but I already have acrylic tubing waiting on my self so it will be coming soon.

  • 1 month later...

So here is the long waited update. I've been vary vary vary busy so I couldn't update it earlier. I've had so many problems with the motherboard that I can't even remember all of them. I'll be RMA:ing it next week.

Acrylic tubing is done. I tried to use 13mm tubing even though these fittings are 12.7mm but it didn't fit. It would have looked a bit better than the 12mm tubing I went with. I'll get some 12.7mm PETG tubing later. I'm still running distilled because of the problems with the motherboard and the fact that Mayhems hasn't released their new pastel coolants.

Bending the tubing was a lot easier than I thought at first all thoug I used about 2m of tubing just practising how to heat it up and bend it. Only one of the tubes bubbled a bit but you can't see it.

Let's hope I'll get my mobo replaced and back in my system with a second 16GB kit of HyperX Fury 2666mhz.

Here's some pictures:
