Portal and Half Life 2 are on Android!

Charlie Clarke

I recently noticed that portal and half life two are available exclusively on the nvidia shield and shield tablet, as well as the new shield tv. I thought this was pretty cool becuase portal is one of my favourite games ever. I was also thinking, why not other tablet? my nexus 7 2012 has a slightly less powerful but decent enough tegra gpu, and i have a bluetooth controller. If anyone could come up with a way to do this that would be cool.

really?

Do you think anything else will handle it?

The Tegra line has DirectX11 and OpenGL, I dont think any other android chip supports that.

the tegra 3 in your nexus 7 2012 is crap. It cannot run half life or portal because the GPU is too weak.

you can run it on some Phones but you need root access there is application that would change your phones GPU name to tegra then they can run on with some bugs. i would post the link on the video on youbut but he shows you to download then games with torrents so i will not xD

I ran half life 2 and portal on shield portable when I still had it. It run like ass, frame rate dips all over the place. I would assume it would run better on shield tablet but from what I saw on youtube frame rate is still all over the place. Its a shit port, you are much better off running it of your pc.
