iMac 27" Mid 2011 Dual Hard Drive Cable

iKatoz

I bought a new Hard Disk and SSD for my iMac but i saw that the cable for the SSD cost 45€, it seems a bit too expensive for four cables. Can I use normal sata cables or i must use the kit from iFixit?

Thanks

If it's SATA 3 anything should work.

Are you replacing drives or adding new? Also, what model iMac, there are differences?

A complicated job. Not for the faint of heart.

There are a number of kits around with the needed cable - http://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/DIYIM27SSD11/ for example. Both power and data cables are combined into the one cable. I would use a kit.
