Custom Keycap Advice Needed

TheMissxu

Hello there.

I'm about to get a new mechanical key board and would like to make it a little special. I've been really into Bioshock (Specifically Bioshock Infinite because of the Luteces and

freaking quantum mechanics), so I want to get a custom keycap made with a printed Bioshock icon.

The actual picture I hope to print so happens to be my profile picture right now. It might change so here it is:

It sounds like I have a plan for action, I know. But what I'm asking advice about is mainly two things:

  1. What color should the keycap be?
  2. Where should I order it from?

First, what color? The new keyboard I ordered is from Massdrop. It's the Varmilo VA87M (Cherry MX Brown, Mint Keycaps).

Caution, tangent incoming: I currently have Cherry MX Blacks, and they are really nice. I've had some issues with mis-registries, like no registering at all or repeating 3-4 times, but those seem to have gone away recently. Linear switches, however, don't seem like my cup tea. I don't know, it just seems like they are the most similar to membrane -- relatively speaking. I can feel how premium, solid, and smooth they are, but I'm thinking compared to click and bump, they have to be the most similar to membrane *in the Cherry MX brand.* So, I decided to grab a tenkeyless keyboard that has Cherry MX Brown switches.

The specific color, which is the important part, is mint. But I don't know exactly what color this means; on the Massdrop page there are two shades of mint presented:

I don't exactly expect you to know what it'll be in reality (It could be blue and black IRL or even white and gold ;) ), but those are the options.

I've looked into color theory (first google result -_- )  to see what I'd think looks best and I've determined either blue, purple, or grey would look the best. What do you think?

Second or finally, this somewhat leads into where I should be ordering this from. I'm pretty sure I'm just going to go with WASDkeyboards, but I'm obviously still asking for advice.

WASDkeyboards does provide numerous color options, including the aforementioned blue, purple, or grey, as seen below.

Tell me everything! Please and thank you ;) .

Okay, so I've opted for the light blue key cap. Too bad I didn't get any input from the forum; was it my formatting that turned you off?

I'll update in a week or two. Stay tuned.
