Looking to upgrade to 16 gb of RAM.

Hi everyone,

I'm planning on getting 16 gb of RAM in the near future and was wondering if there's any certain speed or CAS latency I should go for. I'm mostly going to be doing gaming, 3-D rendering and editing, and some light twitch streaming. Any help is appreciated!

Ideally get another set of the same ones you already have.

Or at least ones that are of same frequency, voltage and latency if possible.

He's pretty much spot on. If you have a spare channel, then get the same set you have. If not, let us know and we can help you find some new RAM! :)

If you look at his PC specs it says he has 4 2GB sticks. He will need to get another set of RAM as all of his slots are taken up. Unless it is a typo and it is meant to say 4x2GB.

If not go for 16GB of your choice of brand at 1866MHz or 2133MHz, with a CAS latency as low as possible.

Yes, it's a typo, I have two sticks of 4gb ram hehe. How would th CAS latency affect my intended purposes? I won't be benchmarking, as I heard that's the way most people test their RAM.
