Which CPU Cooler

Dobbsjr

Which CPU coolers fit the corsair dominator platinum? I've heard a lot don't fit because the dominator platinums are quite tall. So are there any or do I have to switch to low profile ram? My motherboard is an ASUS sabertooth z97 btw.

Watercoolers have a small cpu block, the heat dissipation happens in the radiator

The top fins are able to be removed if need be so that helps in any situation where you buy an HSF and there is not enough room.

Yeah, I've actually thought about setting up a water cooling system, but I'm too lazy to do the maintenance that goes into one. xD

The 212 Evo(Or similar) would probably also work, If it is in a pull configuration.

Corsair has a few closed loops that require no maintenance.

What do you mean by the top fins?

The heatsinks on the RAM.

A liquid cooler would be your best option,  most air coolers are huge.

Dobbsjr I think they are telling you to get one of those self contained water coolers.  There is no maintenance.

This is the air cooling thread, please find a viable solution using air before resorting to water, unless otherwise asked. Just as a courtesy.

-sigh- I guess half the people here are saying water. So much for searching for an air solution first.

What? He's asking for a cpu cooler that won't obstruct his ram because the ram he has now has a shield and fins that's larger than usual.

i've got the hyper 212 evo and my ram fits but only barely... i wouldn't risk it so i went with crucial ballistix sport 2x4 :D

It is only the fan that could interfere with te RAM, So if it is in a Pull configuration instead of Push it would probably fit.

Here is how it looks with my 212 Evo, Compared with the Stock cooler.

indeed, otherwise, crucial ballistix sport is good memory @ 1600 mhz. High speed ram doesnt really do any good to games these days
