Got tricked by lynda.com

So I tried the service and didnt really see that the service would be worth the montly fee so I cancelled it pretty soon during the trial. Now im stuck with 1 year subscription and they are billing me every month tho I have no intentions to use the service.

 

I dont really know what I should do now and at this rate they will charge over 250€ from me :S

wait...you can't get onto the site unless you pay/do trial and if you cancel after date with yearly set this ofc will happen...don't cancel late is the moral of the story.  

 

oh, and if they charged you for 1 month it will only be 1 month since you canceled. ...but looks like you did a whole year gl learning.

Contact your bank and deauthorise payments to that account - the Lynda people. Therefore they will no longer be able to take money from you. Worst they can do is probs suspend your Lynda account due to this (not like you care by now I presume).

This. Any free trial that needs you to enter a credit card is not a free trail, it's them hoping you forget.

Worst they could do is sell your debt off to a collection agency and mess up your credit score ;)

OP: I would suggest you contact them and say that a subscription was made in error and you would like to cancel. Companies can't really hold you hostage as a customer, nor do most want to.
