Anybody here stream on twitch?

I'm just starting out streaming CS:GO on twitch (I'm not providing a link because I don't want to advertise as it's against the rules here), and was wondering if anyone has dabbled in it themselves. I have no idea how to even get that first viewer or spark of interest. I've heard of doing giveaways, but honestly I don't really have anything worth giving away, and wouldn't do that just to start. Besides, how would people even find out that I'm having a giveaway? Who here has been successful in getting their foot off the ground, and how did you do it?

My speed is the same, but you have lower ping. We should stream really old games lol, like ones with hardly any pixels.

no way man that's too much for my connection to handle

Haha, sounds like the answer for most of you is either "no, I don't stream" or "yes, but I'm in the same boat."

For those wondering, I'm DMG and when streaming I usually play a round of deathmatch warmup, then go strait into comp Solo Queue, which is really hard at DMG level. Then after that I either keep doing comp or go do Overwatch and then comp again. I figured that's what most people would like to see, besides unboxings which again, I'm not really in a position to do. Oh, and I stream at 1080p with a 4k bitrate.

Streaming for fun is okay. Streming for income is uber hard these days.

CS:GO has many viewers and too many streamers. So unless u are ranked Global Elite or another streamer can give y a shout out, u will hardly get past 20 viewers :/

Try being energetic, entertaining and hope that someone will like uvthe 1st time they watch your stream.

Thanks. I'm not trying to stream for income or anything. Honestly I'd still probably do it with just one viewer. It's just hard to be energetic when you're getting your butt kicked and one member on your team is a negative nancy and calling the other four trash noobs.

Stat positive and mute him or make fun of/with him. Roleplay :)

Or just go in ultimate rage mode. Worked for PhamtomLord :D

Stream daily or at least every other day.

Thats all I have for u.

I don't stream,  watch some. I noticed that people usually do:

  1. Production quality: keep a schedule, on screen layout, color scheme, gifs, voice quality, music style,
  2. Promote your channel: post on social media, game forums, cross promote with other streamer,
  3. Build your name: attend tournaments, comment on famous players post, share your game content creation,

i stream depth sometimes, i get like 5 viewers max :), it seems cool, i really just wanted to push my gpu harder, it doesn't overclock as well when i use shadowplay.
