How was your experience with working on Modern UI program?

P1X3

I haven't touched desktop apps in a while, but was thinking about diving into Moderm UI App development. Those that have experience with it, how is it? How was it at the start? And just general discussion and feedback would be nice.

On desktop I'm fine with it as long as it's not fullscreen, I like to multitask.

I was given a task to build a simple app for user to enter data and have it sent over to wherever. Seeing how certain full windows 8.1 tablets cost up to $100, I think maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to build a windows modern ui app to serve it on a tablet. Most of the options user has to enter are predefined or are toggle/checkbox. Currently this data is written down and another person enters such data into the system. Waste of someone's time I say.

I made a quick mockup and it works fairly well, but still waiting on the tablet to arrive.

Nope, unless I've missed something in like a month. Which I doubt.

No, you're correct. Modern UI apps still exist in windows 10, but they run in the same forms as desktop apps, thus able to be resized and moved around
