Would replacing GPU thermal paste help?

I have a 750 TI, and due to the case and cooling circumstances the power supply exhausts right onto the intake, resulting in 80 - 85 C temperatures at load. Would replacing stock thermal paste with Insignia thermal paste (Best buy brand) help at all, or would it just be an useless hassle?

It may help, but not by much.

Improving airflow with more fans could help to move the hot air.

I just use some "Industrial Grade" Amasan T12, It suits me fine, The difference between it and higher grade brands are only about 2 degrees, And it comes in a 35g tube so i wont run out in quite some time.

80 to 85° C are really high for a 750Ti. It could help replacing the thermal paste properly. How old is the card? If the card is pretty new it normally doesn't help much. With this temps you should rather improve the case ventilation. Even my notebook GPU doesn't get that hot. Maybe you could post some pictures of your system so we can help you with improving airflow?

One or 2 of the graphics cards i have bought lacked the thermal paste, But those were just some chinese branded GPU's.

So in some cases it will help.

Wow that defenetly should not be the case! I know that sometimes the thermal paste isn't properly applied, but none at all is pretty bad. I guess that's why you don't buy random chinese branded GPUs  ;) .

In some cases it will help.  I wish I would have gotten to putting new thermal paste on my Xbox 360s gpu mobo chip sooner then maybe I would have saved it from death.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

I buy them to mod and overclock, They are cheaper than the higher grade brands and they have about the same performance.

The Asus GTX 660 i have in my rig just works.. It is pretty boring since i dont have any reason to mod it..

I recently had an old 120 mm fan cannibalized from a first gen Antec AIO (stuck at full speed, loud as balls), modded onto the side bringing air (and lots of dust) in, but I took it off recently because of the noise. The stock 92 mm intake died, so I replaced it with a Noctua A9x14. Definitely should of got something else, a 14 mm cpu cooling fan sucks for intake. The inside of the case is completely clear of cables because I got a power supply on sale with ridiculously long cables, so wire management was easy. I took the PCIe slot cover that is directly above the GPU off, with the intention that the intakes would force air to exit there, bringing air over the GPU.

Card is only 3 months old, but it's a PNY OC edition running just under 1400 Mhz. The PNY cooler is a single 80 mm fan intake with a flimsy plastic shroud and blower exhaust. I might post pictures later, I'm at school now.
