Fan controller and PWM?

Hey guys!

My main question is about PWM. I just bought a couple of PWM fans and I was wondering how they would work with the integrated fan controller of the Corsair Graphite 760T.

Would I be better off hooking the fans directly to the mobo?

Thanks in advance guys!

The fan controller on the 760T is only a two speed controller, probably working off voltage. You won't get PWM functionality from your fans unless you actually connect those fans into a PWM fan header on your motherboard

this^^^, get some PWM fan splitters and connect the front radiator fans to each other and do the same for the top radiator fans then connect the pairs to there own mobo fan header.

So it is bad to connect pwm fans to a fan controller?

No but you won't be able to control them separately.

But is not the point of a fan controller to control separately each fan individually at its own channel ? ._.

Not in this case, this built in fan controller controls the speed of 4 fans at once with one button unlike 5.25" bay controller which can control 5-6 fans separately.

Got it! Thanks guys! Now, how does a PWM fan splitter work? Won't it show up on my computer as only 1 fan since it would be plugged into 1 PWM header?

Edit: Oh and also, how do I control the PWM fans once they are all hooked up? Fan control software?

Yes, it will show up as 1 fan but if you follow the instructions I posted before both pairs of radiator fans will be controlled separate from each other. You can control them in the bios or if you find good fan control software.

Got it! Thank you! Already ordered my splitter on amazon!
