Should I buy a CPU and Ram even if I have no use for them?

So I can get a pretty good deal on a G3258 and 8GB of G.SKill Ripjaws ram for $110, but the thing is I don't really have any use or them at the moment. Do you guys think I should buy them just for fun and maybe in the future I can build a cheap system and try to turn it around and sell it or what? I have also always wanted to overclock the Pentium to see what i could get out of it, but I don't have a motherboard or anything else to go along with it. So ya, should I buy it just for fun even though it might be a waste of money?

I'd hold off, it's not that much cheaper than normal price anyways :P

I wouldn't go for it without good use case. $100 saved for future update or for bad day is better than getting something without any current use. Don't you have anything in upgrade list? Like GPU, more SSD/HDD space, better audio/peripherals?

I'd take that deal. $110 CAD is dirt cheap. Sell the G3258 and be happy with a $40 CAD ($32USD) 8GB DDR3 kit...wish I could find DDR3 for that cheap

Make a use for it, build a budget intel PC. It's amazing how useful having another PC can be. If you're not going to build a PC with it don't bother. The G3258 is losing value quickly because 2 cores alone without hyperthreading is becoming an increasing hinderence when trying to run modern applications. For that reason, planning to turn it around in the future will likely only lose you money.
