Major problem when booting - can't reach bios....

Imabigmac

I'll get straight to the point, I turned my computer on left the room for 10mins and its off. I restart it and it goes into a boot loop. Not even reaching bios screen.

I get an error on the debug board of A2, or B4 and it either hangs on a back screen with the code in bottom corner of the monitor or just crashes and goes into a shut down, start up loop. My MSI book says the error codes are onboard devices Initialize and detect, in brackets (usb + sata + SCSI). Now I have tried a bunch of stuff and nothing worked, I'm out of ideas at this point. Help????

What I've tried,

Tried booting with no drives plugged in. - didn't do anything same errors.

Unplugged all usb devices. - same a2 code

Removed one ram stuck tried in all spots and repeated with 2nd stick of ram - this got me a little farther as it stopped boot looping after reseating the ram.

Clear the CMOS - this helped a lot. More on that later

Switched to 2nd bios chip - this helped as well. More on that later

By switching over to a untouched bios chip I was finally to get to black screen, where I was promoted that my memory config had changed etc and wanted to set up a new config or continue, press f2 or f1. My key board was not plugged in and I when I did plug it in nothing happened, so I restarted. I got the stupid black screen with B4 this time. Then I cleared the CMOS and restarted this time keyboard plugged in, I got back to a press f1 or f2 screen I mentioned earlier and then when I selected my machine froze.

If i plug in my ssd, I get a blank screen as well, regardless of bios chip or CMOS a clearing.

And this is where I'm stuck. I ran out of things to try. Please help.

This may or may not help, but I had the same problem when I discovered that the 24 pin PSU plug wasn't in ALL THE WAY.

Make sure you removed the CMOS battery for 5 min.

Check the manufacturer's website for error messages.

BTW getting any beep codes?

I will try plugging it back in, but I'm getting enough juice to boot and stay up.

I'm not touching the battery, but I'll it - mobo has a reset switch.

No beeps as far as I can tell

Why not touch the battery? Most effective way to clear CMOS.

check your mobo to make sure you have everything plugged in and adequately seated for starters, also what is your system this may help.

check individual components if you can to ensure they are good.

recheck to make sure your drives.

a2 means IDE detect

do you have multiple drives?

   check drives in other system

check drives using different cables, mobo connections, and psu connections.

System is in my sig.

I still failed to get into bios without any drives or input devices. I have tried every combo, different drives, different peripherals nothing works. My dives all worked on another computer.

b4 is usb meaning boot with ps/2 slot hardware and update bios

I can update the bios AFAIK if I can't access the bios. I could be wrong but that's what my research got me earlier today. I tried a ps/2 keyboard and still failed to get me anywhere.

It's mobo/Psu I'd assume one or the other

I think it's main board related I get power and its stable but that means nothing at when it comes to computers, especially when I occasionally get constant restarts and power ups - common to my knowledge as a psu issue. Well when I get home I'm going to try my other psu. Failing that hopefully my old motherboard will work while I RMA the MPOWER.
