So what's the last word on striping SSD's for Speed?

I'm hearing conflicting information.

 

I understand that for gaming all they'll really give is better load times (and I'm guessing potentially better streaming of persistent game worlds from storage, but that that's probably not implemented to be any faster regardless of drives used?)

 

But generally speaking, is there really a speed benefit to multiple SSD's and how many would I need to stripe across to make a real difference to performance?

Raid 0 increases speed but you get no benefit with gaming because it's already fast enough, also if one drive fails you loose everything so it's usually better to buy a faster SSD.
