Changing uefi to legacy for w7

TrueWhiteWolf

I have currently a windows 8.1 system on my harddrive with my BIOS set to uefi mode i wish to install windows 7 but, i must change it to MBR if I want to convert but, the thing is that in order to convert to GPT I need to format my drive is there a way to save my computers windows 8.1 to like an iso or something ? or what do i need to do in order to make my data still be there cause i DO NOT want to wait a series of days of downloading again.

The better option would be backing up to an external hard drive and clean installing, not sure what your asking here

You can use windows backup tool to backup your current system to a single condensed file, but thats the equivalent of backing it up to a hard drive with unnecessary compression and decompression

You can't format a drive to GPT and keep its data unfortunately
