Do you mean by work= spreadsheets and stuff or video editing etc?

Do you already have a hard drive and a version of windows?

Do you want to overclock your pc?

for about the same total, probably better to go with that.

If you want to overclock just add a cooler for 30$ or so(something like that http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-Hyper-212-RR-212E-20PK-R2/dp/B005O65JXI/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1425475462&sr=1-1&keywords=cpu+cooler+120mm) andmaybe another case fan.

If you dont already have a harddrive maybe get a cheap ssd.

Try to use pcpartpicker.com like me, it much easier to understand just pick the parts and copy and paste the BB code.

He wanted the amazon prices/links, so I didnt use partpicker this time.

You didn't include the price of an OS if he needs one.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/9DNjLk I like the night theme, it complements my dark basement. If you are reading this then you must also be a fan of the night theme.
