Why only those two?

If you have to stick with these 2, go with the CS. But I would honestly buy neither. Why are you limited to those 2?

I believe that most of the forum would agree with me in saying that's not the wisest or most prudent of decisions, but to each their own. Enjoy the CS. xD

Hmm...well, I doubt that, as you were the one who came here asking whether something is "good / better". If you don't have the knowledge of the product that you claimed to "only like", then you are not able to make a proper, unbiased comparison to units from another company to come to such a conclusion in the first place.

As for your budget, I can believe that. Since we do have a large range of people from various of regions, it is possible that the availability and pricing of certain units isn't good. Of course, since you are only limiting yourself to Corsair PSU, you are turning a blind-eye to any other potential options that's in your budget (which I'm assuming to be around $90 USD).

If can set aside your preference for Corsair and can open yourself to other units, provide a link to where you are able to buy from so we can provide a recommendation to you. Otherwise, feel free to ignore my post and enjoy your CS.

Why are you loyal to a company that doesn't make the PSU but just slap a label on it.

I bought a CX600M in November and it fried last night taking out my GTX 970. Not happy.

It started with high coil whine under load, especially on the 12v rail.

Buy Seasonic, beQuiet or even Thermaltake if you can. I think this is the first PSU I have seen do this in 15 years. Hell I've got a ten year old enermax 350W that still works perfectly.

The New Machine: Intel 11700K / Strix Z590-A WIFI II / Patriot Viper Steel 4400MHz 2x8GB / Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC w/ Bykski WB / x4 1TB SSDs (x2 M.2, x2 2.5) / Corsair 5000D Airflow White / EVGA G6 1000W / Custom Loop CPU & GPU

The Rainbow X58: i7 975 Extreme Edition @4.2GHz, Asus Sabertooth X58, 6x2GB Mushkin Redline DDR3-1600 @2000MHz, SP 256GB Gen3 M.2 w/ Sabrent M.2 to PCI-E, Inno3D GTX 580 x2 SLI w/ Heatkiller waterblocks, Custom loop in NZXT Phantom White, Corsair XR7 360 rad hanging off the rear end, 360 slim rad up top. RGB everywhere.

Well, like I had said, it depends on your region. What you can get in the US, you may not be able to get in the Australia or in a Latin American country. That's why I had asked for a link to the store you are able to buy from.

If you are in the US, though, the CS650M is a $90 PSU: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-cs650m

In the same price range, you could get the EVGA Supernova 750w B2 for a cheaper $80 based price, with a rebate to bring it lower to $60. It's a higher output unit, that offer better build quality, DC quality output, and a 5 year warranty. It does, however, offer lower efficiency, but it is capable of doing Silver. https://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-110b20750vr

You can also get the 850w variant for the same based price before rebates.

You can get the XFX XTR 650 for $10 more than the CS650M. It's a Seasonic G unit internally, but with a better FDB fan, full modularity, and has a switch to toggle between actively cooling and semi-passive mode. It's a better build, better performing electrically unit overall.
