[Update 4/1] OnePlus DR-1 Drone released at just $20 with an extremely small design.

EOGKogs.jpg

It’s a quadcopter, and it’s tiny

With a wingspan of just 70 mm (2.75 inches), the limited-edition DR-1 is the smallest remote-controlled drone in the world. Four flexible blades generate impressive lift and movement speed, and flights are made simple with ultra-bright orientation LEDs. Did we mention that it’s really, really small?

Own the miniature skies

Automatic 4-axis flips are initiated with a simple flick of the thumb, making aerial stunts impossibly easy. Dual flight mode settings allow the DR-1 to seamlessly adapt to your skill level mid-flight, and a quick, 20 minute charge provides 5-8 minutes of exhilarating flight time. You’ll never be grounded for long.

Limited Edition

The DR-1 is a special edition product from OnePlus and is only available in limited quantities. Our exclusive miniature drone is a one-time offer, so get them before they’re gone.

Godspeed, and always remember: with tiny power comes tiny responsibility.

*Our lawyer wants us to tell you not to do this. So, uh, don’t do this.

As someone that's been trying to get into drones, this is pretty cool. The price makes it an easy purchase. I just hope the build isn't it's downfall.

UPDATE 3/26

It's a drone, the DR-1 and we will start selling it next month.

According to OnePlus founder Carl Pei, who was spotted walking the grounds at MWC, the company is going to be entering a new product category next month. What will this new product be? The easy guesses, such as a smartwatch or a tablet, have both been denied by the executive. That still leaves quite a few possibilities such as branded speakers, a fitness band carrying the OnePlus name, or even a smart television.

And of course, there is still the matter of the OnePlus One sequel. Pei had previously said back in January that the follow-up to the successful handset would "surprise people," although what exactly he was referring to is still unclear. A smartphone isn't a new product category, so we can rule out the OnePlus Two as being the mystery device.

Pei has indicated that tablets are not a product that he wants OnePlus to start building. According to the executive, no one in the industry is profiting from building tablets at the current time thanks to expanding phablet sales.

So what new product category will OnePlus find itself entering in April?

Well, not much to say here. As the owner of the oneplus one, ive seen that oneplus is capable of delivering a great product and will wait and see what they have next in line to release.

My guess is a good as yours :P

UPDATE:

SNYn1sw.jpg

It’s been a little over a year since OnePlus was founded, and while we launched with our flagship killer smartphone, we have, and always will be, a technology company. Innovation and revolutionary ideas that shake up the industry are what OnePlus has built itself upon.

The One was created to disrupt the smartphone world. The Power Bank was born to give our users more options and greater mobility. So, when it came time to think about our next product, we decided on a curveball.

It’s not a tablet, and it’s not a smartwatch. But it is a game changer.

Guessing something like the phonejoy game controller. They used to gave them on show case in a YouTube video I recall. I'm actually looking into buying a controller for my One. If my guess is right and the price isn't to steep, I'll buy it.

My guess

He's right about the phablet stuff. Why buy two devices when a phone does everything a tablet does just a little bit smaller. Why I never wanted a tablet.

The only tablets I find to be able to succeed in the future is something the runs a future windows OS, something that is more then a phone yet more easily portable then a notebook.

I have no guesses what so ever what they would introduce.

This is one of the reasons I've been holding off on a tablet. I might grab the HP stream for game streaming, but I think I'll be better off streaming to my One.

Oneplus hasn't really shown what their interest are, so I'm still out of guesses.

If it's a smart tv I sure hope they don't ship them with a yellow hue and then have it be impossible to RMA they've already done that with their phones. I hope it's not some kind of android console there's no need for those to even exist at all IMO. Don't much care to see a speaker dock or any shitty thing like that either so kinda hoping it's none of the things any of us has guessed so far.  Hell I'd rather a smart lamp then any of the above lol.

Hmm, Carl really just ruled out anything I'd be interested in buying.

Maybe he can surprise me. I support OnePlus as a company and would be interested in buying more of their products.

I hope it isn't something stupid like an action cam, Android TV box or laptop.

A lot of people know their Facebook page were saying it's just their OS that they'll finally reveal.

I really hope its not a action can. I'll welcome and android TV as my ouya is getting outdated, but not from oneplus. Seems like they could output something more different.

Well what can I say there's a lot of pointless tech related shit being sold lol I'd prefer they don't attempt a product we're already flooded with 10,000 options both cheap and decent (speaker docs) as I don't see them doing well. I would rather they come out with something that I think both myself and others may actually consider buying and clearly it has to be easily shipped which mostly counts out the smart TV idea (not to mention regular displays are better then smart ones)  I live alone so a lamp that actually turned off when my phone left the room or the house could actually be somewhat useful.

A lamp sounds good, but I don't think well be seeing that :(

New guess: oneplus USB hub?
