Bent pin on FX 8350. Fixable?

Hey guys.  So back in December, I bent one pin on my 8350 while reorienting my AIO liquid cooling.  I bought another one because I needed my PC back and running ASAP, but never though about trying to fix it until now.  Anyone have any suggestions or resources on how to do this? It was a pin on the very edge of the CPU.

Cheers :)

Yes, get a small flathead screwdriver, tweezers, a nice light source and a magnifying glass

Planning on trying StarCitizen (Highly recommended)? STAR-NR5P-CJFR is my referal link

Even if its completely broken off, if you can get it to make contact, it would work. Carefully bend it back into place.

Here's a (bad) photo, but you can see where it is, right on the edge.

this is definitly an easier one to fix. use a flathead till you can fit a credit card behind it then bend it straight up

unlike with modern intel CPUs where the pins are ont he motherboard tiny and slanted

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

^This.

I remember fixing about half a dozen bent pins on a socket AM2 (similar to AM3 / AM3+) CPU.

Screwdriver / Tweezer + credit card + slight of hand = fixed CPU pin(s).

Just be gentle; slowly straighten it a little bit at a time. Once it's about there, use the credit card to fine-tune / re-align it.

I have a Corsair AIO water cooling for my CPU, and I wanted to switch it from the back of my Fractal Design Define Mini to the top, so I had to change the orientation of the cooler.  I must have bent it somewhere between taking it out and cleaning the old thermal compound off :/  Had to go buy a new one, set me back $220 that I didn't have to spend.  At least the computer store down the road had an AM3+ CPU, or else I would have probably cried ^_^

Man, I smashed my Nexus 5 in the summer while out one night.  Biking + smartphone in hand + alcohol = new phone. Should have got another Android though...

For anyone interested:  I seem to have gotten it straight.  I now have to try to find a system to test it in.  I don't want to use my own, though..

If its bent back then it should be just fine.

Looks like a fairly easy one to fix. Totally doable.

Next time you need to clean a CPU with pins, lay it flat on a new cheap car sponge, that way its cheap enough not to bend the pins but strong enough to allow force on the top of the CPU :)
