Upgrading to 144Hz, HELP!

DatGuyFantasy

Hey guys, i need help. i am planing to get a 144Hz monitor and i don't know what kinda of brad i should get and if it is even worth getting a 144Hz monitor. i currently have an AOC E2752V. I mainly play CS:GO and i'm hoping with a 144Hz monitor it will help me get better. I was planing to get a AOC G2460PQU 144Hz monitor. i did some research on the AOC monitor there were a lot of mix reviews on it. Other people recommend getting the BenQ XL2411Z or the Asus VG248QE. The AOC is on sale this month $40 off ($339 regular price). The one thing the AOC does not have is motion blur reduction, does motion blur reduction really matter? My price rang is $300-$400

Buying a monitor that expensive without G-Sync doesn't feel right to me personally.

What are your pc specs? If you can run 1440p, I would sit on your money for a while, and look for deals on the ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q.

If your PC can't run 1440p, and you do not feel like upgrading, 1080p 144hz G-Sync monitors are out there, AOC has a model I believe, but 1440p is the future mate.

I ordered the AOC G2460FQ and it seems like amazing value.

I got it for £117 when all other 144Hz monitor are £200+

Are u sure u paid £117 and not £171 ?

If u only paid £117, where did u buy from and during what time (regular, xmass, black friday etc.) ?

Thanks. I don't mind spending 120 quid on 144hz lol.

Good question about motion blur feature. I don't know the answer but I would assume that for CS:GO it's fine.

I don't feel trustworthy about AOC when Benq (well known brand that has been in this business for over a decade) asks just a little more for their 144hz screen.

U are probably not gonna be playing just CS:GO and later on u will upgrade your PC hardware and be able to get 90ish frames in other games, but u will probably keep the monitor so I would go with Benq or Asus. Whichever of these two is cheaper.

Go check YouTube reviews on that AOC if u want the cheapest.

Wait, before you get anything, you say you want to get better in cs go so im guessing thats the reason why you want it.

What rank are you right now, how many hours have you played and what monitor do you have now?

Please get the thought that getting a 144hz monitor will make you better out of your head.

Don't blame the tools ;)

Exactly.

However playing a comp match 144hz, under 10ping vs 75hz, 50+ ping will give a bit of advantage but requieres perfect reaction time.

Having good tools is a good start and only essential for top tier proplayers/teams.

Nah i was going to try and talk you out of it if you were silver something, but at DMG/800h it might actually make a difference and make you play better, im sure you've died many times by a guy who shot a split second faster than you

I'm using an Acer gn246HL, its underrated in my opinion. Cheaper than some, and its colors are great. One of the cheaper 144hz monitors, while delivering extremely good quality visuals. Does require dual-link dvi for 144hz @ 1080p though, something to keep in mind.

-edit-

It also has a 1ms response time, 3d if your into that sort of thing, and some other features that are nice.

"Normandy" i7 4790K - GTX 970 - Phantom 410 (Gun metal) - Z97 Extreme4 (asrock) - 128GB Crucial SSD - 1TB WD HDD - H60 Refurb. - 7 case fans | G710+ Keyboard, G230 Headset, Acer GN246HL Monitor.

Quick thoughts on system: I7 is extremely quick and I'm glad I spent the extra for hyper-threading. I regret my decision to get the GTX 970, it has horrible coil whine. There isn't any excuse for this terrible whine I and others are having. I HIGHLY recommend a 144hz monitor. Future Improvements/upgrades: Rubber fan mounts, basic speakers, more ram (for a total of 16gb), replace GPU.

144hz is love. 144hz is life. I like to submit unfinished posts then do about 20 edits. I like the Night Theme too.

What about LEM , 2.7+k hours and a 60hz tn monitor? Also , I'm currently using a HD7850 + i5 3570 , while it runs more than enough for 144hz on 1366x768 , I'll probably run it on that reso when I'm getting one of the BenQ 144hz monitors , reason being don't think it'll be enough to run 1080p and also takes time to adapt to the new resolution / sensitivity.

Also I would like to know if it's going to be worth it to be spending that much for a monitor that's "TN" when I hearing that IPS 144hz are coming soon , just that those aren't 1080p. Though I'm quite sure that it's going to be extremely pricey once those come out. The BenQ XL2420z cost $423+ directly converted , here.

Anyone who has played CS seriously and has a good rank should think about getting a faster monitor.

Those IPS144hz will be stupid expensive in the beginning, im personally getting an IPS 1440p 60hz monitor soon instead of a 144hz  but its up to you
