1 2560x1080, because I think 22 inch is not big enough IMHO  :P

it depends, ive you want bigger screens, 3x 22", but ive you want more FOV for shooters, 25" + 22" secondary wich you already have.

here is a quick illustration for size comparison:

I'd personally go for a 29" 21:9 monitor because they're about as tall as a 23" 1080p display.

Is the difference between the 25" and the 29" really big?

Well I think so. Take a look: http://displaywars.com/25-inch-21x9-vs-29-inch-21x9

The 25" version is the same height as a 20" display.

well i switched to a 21:9 and i will not go back soon almost all games i play works perfect with the 21:9 and its much less demanding then 3x 1080p and i do really think that if you play games at 3x 1080p you don't use all of the screens since the two side screens get stretched a lot. but it all depends from person to person. i prefer having all on 1 screen vs 3 screens with besiles between them.

Needs Update

I'd just like to say I just got a 34" 2560x1080 monitor for $550 a couple weeks ago and LOVE it. I'd say DEFINITELY go ultrawide, but avoid the 25" model. Get a single 29 or 34 inch ultrawide. I have an LG 34um65 and fell in love IMMEDIATELY and honestly have a hard time using 16:9 monitors now. Think of it in regards to how you like using 4:3 monitors... That's how I now feel about 16:9
