So I can use this in the spa and not worry about buzzing my spa?

Bad thing it still got a Sony version of Android. If it had plain 5.0 it would be perfect.

Huh? Sony's skin is one of the most stock-like skins out there. More stock than even ASUS's

I have the last one and I didn't like the UI. Just like google did with the Nexus tablet it should become the Android flagship so it gets pure Lollipop.

No real surprise here.

Sony has always been top notch in innovation. It may seem like in the past few years Sony has been lugging behind.. But they have different and quite frankly more areas of focus than most of their direct competitors.

And I'm not sure how many of you guys have actually opened or done a teardown of Sony products (literally, any and all).. They are near works of art. Not just components thrown together. And they're great about doing things in-house. Look inside the PlayStations.. Beauties compared to the rest.

I've always admired Sony engineering even as a kid. And I agree regarding your point about the PlayStations. Take a look at a PS4 teardown and an X1 teardown and you can clearly tell which company specializes in hardware engineering.

Haha 6000? What a joke. My nexus 9 has pretty bad battery life for a tablet without me messing with kernel tweaks. Wonder how this will fare. But it may have a better chance with the snapdragon 810.

My Samsung tab 2 has 7000, yet can't even go 20 minutes without a charge.

Cool, I figured at least one person would know right away what I was talking about.

Yeah man.. Even as a kid Sony's engineering seemed like art vs finger painting against their competitors. Of course, I only speak of internals (well, in some cases..) And yes, when I mentioned the PlayStation console teardowns, I was more or less specifically thinking about the PS4.. It's like you can take off the chassis of a PS4 and the internals still look better than the X1 with it's chassis.

That just sounds like a completely wrecked battery.

Nah, it's not the battery. It's fucking Android 4.2 and things get worse with fucking Touchwiz. It's like my Dell Inspiron 600M running Vista.Total shit.

Fair enough. I've owned many cell phones from different companies and my favorite was the Sony skin on The Xperia Z1. I do agree though that stock android is still better at least for the homescreen, but I have to say that companies always add some compelling extra features on their skin that you often cannot get on stock android.

I know that Sony beats Samsung UI hands down, touchwiz is just bad. Let's see how this one stacks up against them.

Holy crap it's like Sony stole my Nexus 10 2 wish list and designed this tablet around it.

It's a shame about the speakers not being front facing, but this will most likely be my next tablet.

Edit: it seems like the speakers might be on the front!

Should of went with an Atom and a full version of Windows 8.1.

I prefer Android for tablets. Windows has next to no good programs/apps that work well on tablets. At least no good programs for what I want to do.

KitKat is better on tablets than lollipop, also the sony skin isn't that heavy.
