Hot swap bays not refreshing?

saya_kucing

I have a couple of hot-swap bays and whenever I insert a new drive or take one out, the windows file manager will not register new ones/old ones taken out. What's the way around this, so they automatically register upon inserting a new drive or taking one out?

Thanks,

saya.

I believe in your motherboard's BIOS, you have to turn on "Hot-Swap SATA".

Location in the BIOS differs board to board.

^This and I believe chipset drivers also have to be installed as well.

I enabled hot plug through the BIOS, and it's still not recognising the disks.

Ugh - OK.

I rebooted the system (the only way to get it to work) and it recognized the drives. I then removed one drive and the other one as well as the one I removed was dropped.

HOW HOTSWAP?!?!
