Ethernet LAN problem

ryane

I am having problems with my LAN on my laptop. No matter which port or cable I use I just cant seem to get connected to the internet. I tried disabling/reenabling, restarting the computer and flushing the DNS but they don't seem to work. When I check on the device manager it says the device is working properly. In the adapter settings window, it says that the "network cable unplugged" when the cable is connected.

Below are my specs:

Windows 7 64-bit

Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

Yes. I have been using it since last year and I have tried switching both cables. Even used a different port but the results are the same. It also just disconnected while I was in the middle of using it. Happened last night as well but was ok after i restarted my comp.

Now another problem arose. It worked a while after reinstalling the driver but after putting it to sleep and coming back a few hours later it does not sense the drive at all. The device is not appearing in the device manager at all. When i try to install/uninstall the drive it says "the device is not found. If deep sleep mode is enabled please plug in cable." Help!
