It seems the internet is abuzz with R9 390X rumors. This time around even game developers are talking about the card.

The "whispers" as they're being referred to are pointing towards a "crazy" demo involving AMD's R9 390X flagship at GDC. And before you ask, no the demo doesn't involve heating the entire event using AMD cards.

AMD’s upcoming flagship graphics card, the Radeon R9 390X may actually make a surprise appearance at GDC after all. We’ve reported two weeks ago that AMD is working on something “Crazy” for GDC according to Stardock’s CEO, Brad Wardell. We also touched on the possibility that AMD maybe preparing a showcase of its new graphics hardware there at the show.

Wouldn't it more interestingly be the Carrizo APU? Thats where all the hype is right now.

Still would be nice to see 390x.

It's so close!!!

R9 390X, L4D3, and more!

Anticipation coupled with speculation makes people believe what they want to see is what it must be.

With all this hype chances are the 390X is a rebrand of the 290X for OEMs.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

Why do you say that?

BTW cannot wait for Half life 3 release this GDC!

/s

I would say I am expecting Carrizo/ something else than 390x

I followed the links to a YouTube livestream or something. He goes on to talk about CPUs and how apparently "4 and 8 core CPUs will be useless (in comparison) for gaming". Something on the CPU side maybe?

I have to agree with this, only not a new product at all. They had their own livestream event for the R9 285 and some space balloon thing for Kaveri. I doubt they'd release the R9 300 series at a conference.

That's because 12,5% of it doesn't work at full speed.

They better release it literally on that day at GDC or a few months later because the GTC is a few weeks later and Nvidia will 100% launch a new GPU there.
