This is a fantastic series and I know they are planing to make more, I just wanted to suggest a goal for one.

I think it would be cool from them to have all the same hardware and just try to make the coolest case they can with random stuff they find. Give them x dollars and x time and make a custom case. Let's see how creative Linus and Luke can actually be!

loved this series, haven't seen anything like this on any channel before. Its always good to see LMG trying new things to keep up engaged.

Whelp forgot to include a drain valve in my loop, there's always next time.

great series and i think the amount of views shows that, maybe do a real scrapyard type challenge as in go to a real scrap yard and try to build a functional computer with what you find, or from local charity stores and make a nice computer both of you have to do the same type of challenge, maybe make it alot more like top gear, and have the episodes longer and have the episodes have a structure so part 1 - finding / 2- building / 3- conclusion, etc ... think that would be cool =)

Not sure if this would fit the style of LinusTechTips, but I've been looking at the pretty old PowerMac G5 from Apple with one main thing in mind: the case. Hear me out. This thing is a sexy all aluminum silver case and looks amazing. I've seen builds inside this case for Hackintoshes, but a lot of them are sloppy or require case mods. Seeing the crew do a battle of the builds within this constraint of not directly modifying the case seems like it could be awesome and informative at the same time.

My friend and I try to do this as a challenge to see if we could do it we ended up spending 345 in total and not get the best price to performance, Winnipeg sucks for buying used pc parts.

Here are the Specs:

CPU: i3-3240 @ 3.40GHz
Motherboard: Asus P8Z68-V LX
Ram: 4GB
Power Supply: 750 Watts, 80+
GPU: EVGA GTX 560 Ti OC
Windows 7 Home Premium.

So, i have a question...

I have a pc similar to linus build

It's a Core 2 quad Q9550 overclocked to 3.83Ghz on a rampage formula motherboard

8Gb of DDR2 memory running at 900Mhz

And a GTX 760

I ran the fire strike benchmark and my score was 5072 on total

is that right?

I mean, linus PC scored 5866

So, my score is correct? Or i should have a higher score?

I know my processor have a little bottleneck, but after seeing the video I became confused

I dont know really

Could you guys help me?

If you need more info about my PC feel free to ask

Sorry for the bad english, I'm brazilian

Did you OC the GPU or RAM? 8 Gb @ 900 MHz is comparable to 3 Gb @ 2400 MHz. You could probably add an XMProfile to your memory. Maybe get 1200 out of it? Use AfterBurner to OC your card. I know you could pull an extra 150 - 180 on the core clock and even 420 - 450 more on the memory clock. Give it a shot, viniqs95 .
