Guest
Go to solution Solved by Guest,

The overclock is perfectly stable and after power cycling my system a few times i got my speeds to come back up..... I have no idea what caused it i just hope it doesnt happen to me again.

Nonetheless thanks for the help guys

A few days ago I got my i7 4770k to a stable overclock of 4.4Ghz but today when i woke up i noticed that my CPU wasn't reaching the full 4.4Ghz and was capping out at the stock 3.5ghz

as you can see from the picture the multiplier is set to 44 but it wont go over 35

are you sure you applied the overclock in the BIOS? that voltage seems really low for an OC...

I applied the overclock and had the voltage at 1.15v but since my cpu refuses to clock back up to speed i wont be doing any stress testing so i turned adaptive voltage back on

I tried a 4.2ghz clock with manual voltage (1.16v) and the cpu speed read 4.2 untill i opened up realtemp, then it stuck back at 3.5g

that voltage sounds a bit low for that overclock. um i honestly don't know , the only advice i have left would be to contact asus and see if they have a workaround for that , sorry mate :/    unless someone else in the forums knows anything more or how to fix it

1.16v?  I don't have that CPU to compare, but that does seem low.  It is only 4.4GHz though.

Edit:  One guy has it at 1.16v and 4.7GHz... impressive.

Try using Intel XTU and setting 1.2v for 4.2 and see if it works.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.

I have this problem with a different CPU... On my side, I think that it's a Windows 8.1

bug because my problem doesn't exist under Linux or Windows 10... Anyway, go read
