S5 or Z3 Compact

Z3 Compact :P. Its portable and packs same features as Z3 exept the screen resolution, not to mention has a just as good camera with dust and water resistance.

Z3C owner here. Love the phone because of the battery life, camera, and the size. Being a person with very small hands, the trend of bigger phones just isn't an option for me. I still find the Z3C too be a bit big at times but there really isn't a high end phone that is smaller.

I will have to warn you that the phone is very fragile. I feel like it will crack if I drop it, thank god I haven't done that yet. There are some small cracks on the back of the phone, you'd have to really look for them to see it but it is still concerning.

The battery life is also another selling point for me since I get well over 2 days of use with it but I am not a very heavy user.

Overall it's a great phone for someone who doesn't want to get a "regular sized" phone.

Thanks for your informative reply, could you let me know if the phones camera seems sluggish or if the speaker is quiet (say in like a car/mildy noisy environment) also is the led quite dim - these are the main problems i've heard.

Thanks a lot. :)

Don't think either is an issue. I've read the Z3's speakers are louder than the Z3C's but to me, the Z3C's speakers sound just fine. There's no problem with the camera being sluggish from what I can tell. Having the dedicated camera button is quite useful. I usually keep the screen brightness near the minimum so don't think that should be an issue either. It is a bit on the expensive side, so that's something to consider.

If you don't mind me asking, why are you comparing these 2 phones? They seem to be aimed at different market segments.

As an owner of both the S5 and the Z3 (not compact), I have to say the Z3 is the superior phone. Everything it does just feels so much better. The only downside is it's noticably heavier (although that's coming from the S5, depending what you upgrade from would depend how much you notice).

The only thing the S5 did exceptionally well in comparison was night photos. Z3 has a great camera but it suffers in low light.

As for the fragility mentioned in the above comment, that might be a Z3 Compact exclusive thing, Z3 feels super solid.

The reason i'm comparing the two phones they are both in my price range (in a local shop) and i seem to think they fit my needs, as i often go out boating (im not intending to go dunking the phones but it's good as a precaution) and camping where i want best battery life before having to use my portable charger. And they also both sport pretty good camera.

Thanks for the feedback on my second question regarding the speaker, however for the led i meant as in a flash light for when i'm camping.

Do you want a big phone or a compact phone? Pretty much just comes down to that.

Sorry I misunderstood, I actually don't use the flash when I use the camera so can't really comment on that. As another poster said, it really depends on whether you want a "small" phone if you can really call it that or a big phone. Based on that, I think your choice will come pretty easily.
