asus monitor wont go to 144hz

so i just bought the asus vg248qe and i plug it in along side my other monitor, which is 60hz and when i go in to screen resolution -> advance settings -> monitor. it will not give me the option to switch to 144hz. I also tried changin it in nvidia control panel, it gives me the option to switch to 120hz there, but after I hit apply it automaticly turn back to 60hz. Please help!

Are you using a dvi dual link or display port?

If you using the correct input:

 

This happens to my monitor, PG278Q sometimes. You have to do a clean re-install of the Nvidia drivers. Remember to check the box "clean install". This always fixes it for me.

 

Or you set up a custom resolution and hz rating in the control panel.
