Looking to upgrade this pre-built 560

UpDate: Bringing this back for a bit.

I plan on popping in a HD 7750. Can I expect a significant performance boost? Also does anyone have any recommended upgrades I could possibly make?

For the past year and half, I've been operating on my Asus K55n-SA80403V. It's a decent laptop, but falls short on the games that I would like to play. With this in mind I'm seeking out means to an upgrade.

Originally I was going to chose the lenovo y50, but I noticed I had this dell inspiron 560 lying around. It'd be more effective to just upgrade that then just purchase a cheap tablet like the hp stream 7.

The HDD got bad sectors so I ended up having to push in a spare. Assuming I would like to upgrade this for 1080p gaming at mid-high, what would be my best route?

Current Specs:

I have a budget of 250$-300$. So far, I think I'd need to upgrade the PSU (optional? HD 7750?), bump the Hdd, grab a wireless card, and pick up a graphics card. I don't really know to much about older parts, so help would definitely be appreciated.

Not really worth it i.m.o. You're running a too old platform (775) to really take advantage of a GPU upgrade. Unless you upgrade your CPU to a high end Core 2 Quad as well, but I really don't think that's worth it.

I see. If this is the case then I might just be starting my first build this year if I don't go the y50 route. Thanks for the help  :)
