Wifi acces point without dhcp

justjort
Go to solution Solved by justjort,

No, I have not disabled dhcp. but i found a solution later anyway: http://www.labnol.org/software/add-router-to-wireless-network/19716/

So I ran into an issue with my new network setup, that is practically ungoogle-able.

I currently have one modem and an additional wifi router on my top floor for better connection.

However when a device (like a chrome cast) connects to the top floor router, I cannot find it on the modem connection.

Does anyone know a way to configure my router to have my devices connect to the modem directly. and therefore having all my devices accessible at both routers.

I hope someone can make sense of this :P

That solution tells you to disable DHCP. Anyway, yeah, those directions should get you going. Please let us know how it works out.
