How is Sprint's coverage?

legend8887

How is Sprint's coverage compared to AT&T and Verizon? I know it's not as big but the Wi-Fi hotspot I'm going to get uses it so I'd like to get a general idea.

major cities and freeways will be 4g, middle of nowwhere will be garbage. not as good as verizon, about equal to AT&T.

dad has Verizon, I have sprint. the last 2 years they had some major rollouts, and have seriously improved. that being said Verizion still has way better coverage. Sprint has accruate coverage maps that you can look up your area.

Where I live (West Central Florida) it's absolute garbage. Even though there are at least 5 or 6 Sprint towers in our area, it's still really bad.

But your mileage will definitely vary.

I live in Michigan and have a sprint phone, though use Ting (uses sprint towers), from what I've experienced, coverage is pretty good, though in certain locations there are dead zones for me, and around 1/2-3/4 of the time I am able to get 4G, with the remaining 1/4-1/2 being 3G or no connection.

In general Sprints coverage is fine in mid to large cities, but in small towns you will be on 3g(which is slower than mother carriers 3g). Luckily they have highways covered pretty good, but the building penetration is nothing spectacular. Overall its not too bad, but its not too good either. I have used Sprint in Colorado, Kansas, and New York. Colorado has pretty decent coverage, its mostly 3g though(still usable). Kansas is pretty terrible, the one bar of 3g that you will averace is unusable. New York is pretty good, having better coverage and faster speeds than Colorado, but still has building penetration issues.
