i need a decent free video editing software. i just need fairly simple software that i could use. nothing too complicated.

Actually, if basic editing is all you need, Windows Movie Maker is surprisingly good for it.

Windows Movie Maker. It has gotten surprisingly capable for a basic video editor.

No, never. I've never had anything but terrible experiences with that POS they call software. Do you even understand how many school projects I've lost thanks to that thing over the last 5 years? I have never ONCE been able to get all the way through a project without it crashing multiple times, no matter the length of the project. 

 

Honestly, you're not going to find any quality free video editing program. You *cough* could pirate one *cough* but I can't condone that or help you in any way, nor will you find anyone here willing to help you.

Best free video editing software there is hands down. The Lite Edition will have most of the things you need if you are just learning. In fact I would even go to say it's comparable to something like Adobe Premiere Pro. On top of that, unlike other free software such as Blender and GIMP it is actually pretty easy to learn and the UI it's god awful.
