with such a large budget you should go for an i5 instead

Yes, but they are different architectures so core count and clock speed are irrelevant. With a budget like that get an I5. Or if you want lots of threads (kinda like cores) get the Xeon 1230(1) V3

They are the identical chip. No point in spending more on a few megahertz

you can fit an SSD and a good GPU with an i5 in a $1k budget

just ask for a build with those components in the "new builds and planning" section and someone will give yo a parts list

Your name, avatar, signature and comment all say bias. You lack a bit of self-awareness "friend". Even if I were to look past that, the comment is still false.

$1000 build, squeeze in a locked i5. You'll thank yourself later.

The i3 is much faster in games.

Games like stronger cores.

What game is that? I've never heard of it before.

I'll probably go for a 250GB SSD but other than that, this seems pretty good. I could save some money by going for an AMD R9 290 or something

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

<snip>

I don't think it was an attack, just generally someone whos name and avatar are AMD related *may* not be completely free of bias themself.

Also that 4K rig was made to run CS:GO and League etc at 4K, plus at 4K its more GPU bound, it's not the best video to represent AMD CPUs and gaming performance IMHO.

Nice build, except the Kingston SSD, which is crap. Crucial MX100 128GB for $65 would be better. You'll also need at least one 140mm case fan (two would be better) since the S340 has no front intake fans out of the box.
