Is this a good HTPC?

Hi,

I'm looking for a simple HTPC, I'll only use it to steam video, music etc, so not steam games etc. So it doesn't have to be super advanced etc, but I don't want it to be slow and laggy.

I saw this particular model at a reduced price here in Sweden. Would this one suit my needs?

ASUS Vivo PC VM42

Thank you

It should do very well as long as you limit yourself to 1080p material and common formats like H.264. :)

H.265 and 4K material needs a lot more hardware at this point. You can always change to another machine a couple of years down the road anyway.

It really depends on what you are going to use it for. If you just want to use this for media streaming and general content consumption, then this will be fine. If you want to do any form of gaming or stuff that is CPU/GPU intensive then you should just build your own.

If you can get it cheap, then yes it is fine for your normal streaming usage..
