Is the AMD Athlon X4 760K Unlocked?

I know the question seems stupid but in cpu boss and everywhere else i could find say that this cpu isn't unlocked but it has a k in the title and i want to know if it is since i plan to OC my friend build when it gets here.

It certainly is, and usually they're beasts at overclocking.

how much do you think i can get on the stock cooler? (since my friend a cheap and does not want to buy a aftermarket one)

I think all A8 and A10's are. Which the Athlon's are based on A10 chips. Is that correct?

Silicon lottery, and also depends on case airflow e.t.c 

I'd say 3.6Ghz around about.

Yes, also this chip doesn't have integrated graphics so you have to use a discrete GPU.

That's FX, for FM2/+ if it has a black box it's unlocked.

My A8 7600 is locked.

The latest A10 is kaveri and not related to the FM2 architecture.

I meant socket. Kaveri chips are FM2+.
