EVGA 780ti ATX COOLER SLI heating issues

Hello friends,

I have just finally gotten my computer built the way I want it.

I am so happy because when I bought the extra 780ti on ebay last week for like 325$ (a steal), the PCIE-2 slot on my MSI-G55 motherboard was broken. Well, it wouldn't read the graphics card, and I kept getting the dreaded error code 12 where there wasn't enough resources. So I sucked it up, and bought the ASUS hero VII. It works great and I love it except for one big problem. My top card gets WAY hotter than my bottom card. When I ran benchmarks, I'm talking 63 C compared to 83 C. I am not sure what to do. I can't really separate them anymore than they already are. If anyone can help or just tell me if they have had something like this happen before and their solution, that would be amazing. Thank you so much for your time reading this and I appreciate any help. THANKS AGAIN!!

Sincerely,

Anthony Bartholomew

It's completely normal for the top card to reach ~80 degrees C.

If your case has a side fan, flip it around so that it is exhausting air. Helped drop my top card's temp by 5-10 degrees.

Thank you guys for the replies. I wouldn't really worry that much about it but while playing BF4 at 4k I got the blue screen of death an error message MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION and I wasn't running software to show what the temp the GPU was but it must have been way to much to blue screen me. :/ Would putting a fan really make a difference? Thanks for the help!!

Flipping my side fan around from intake to exhaust really made a difference. You could also download EVGA Precision X and create a more aggressive custom fan curve for the cards as temporary fix.

Maybe get some real case fans and set the fan curves for the gpu's. I have a better breathing case but even with gpu fans around 65% they cant reach 80 degrees.

BF4 5760x1080 ultra and oc'ed with 100% fan I sit at 63 and 60 Celsius.
