3rd party launcher

jayctech

Thinking about switching to a third party launcher for my 1+1.

Not sure what I want even exists but why not ask right?

Requirements:

  1. Exactly like Google Now Launcher except more customizable (icons, gestures etc.)
  2. If it costs money there is a free version/trial

I'd say Holo Launcher. It's what I used back when I was on 2.3. Looks just like the stock Jelly Bean launcher.

Can you get the Google Now page on the far left like GNL?

I don't know, I haven't used it since KitKat came out.

AFAIK, GNL is the only one that has GN fluidly and tightly integrated with it.

That's what I feared. :\

There a working Google Now screen like in GNL?

Oh, then no.

I think Google made the Google Now Screen exclusive to their own launcher, and block third parties from accessing it.

Why is a Google Now screen a necessity? Map the home button so that when you long press it, it launches into Google Now (if you use hardware keys, if you use software keys just swipe up)

Nova is the best I've used. I could never go back to having just 4 apps horizontally on my homescreen, especially when it's a 5.5" screen... Ew...

Because I like it as its own screen and that's how I want it.

Try KK launcher. Only problem with it is that you'll have to use the back button to get out of google now, otherwise you can set it up like Google launcher with ton of customization on top of it.

last 3rd party launcher that did that that I used was Trebuchet on the CM11 44S ROM from the Oneplus One. I liked that they had that features but so far it's not on lollipop.

I'm using nova prime and no, you won't get the google now screen but its really close to stock and customizations and gestures are really nice.

Because I like it as its own screen and that's how I want it.

If thats how you want it then develop your own launcher and stop whining.

If your rooted get Xposed GEL settings. It will let you completely customize the the Google Now Launcher.

I've clearly stated in OP "Not sure what I want even exists but why not ask right?" so clearly I'm aware it may not exist.

Comments stating other launchers without the Google Now screen are useless, simple as that. A simple comment saying "It doesn't exist" is more productive.

No need to make an account just to "whine".

It doesn't exist. If they add the google now screen to nova launcher, then that would be exactly what your looking for, but until that happens i believe you are out of luck.

Does not having a second parenthesis around something bother anyone else as much as it does me? (Like if this statement was missing a second side)
