Pc won't switch off properly

so yeah, my work PC doesn't actually turn off, i'm running windows 7, all new parts, and when it says 'shutting down' the circle will spin, and then just freeze, doesn't matter how long I leave it it'll just stay as it is. Very weird, never seen anything like this before, anyone know of a way to fix this? Not a major problem just concerning me that's all. Thanks guys

What is happening is that your motherboard has a bug, where it fails to recognize ACPI call to turn off your computer, or it does but the power supply is broken and can't cut the power.

If you were using Windows 98, you would get this message:

650x300xits-now-safe-to-turn-off-your-co

But this message no longer exists, as well we are in 2015, let alone back in 2000: all computers supports ACPI.

So here are the causes:

-> Bug in the BIOS/UEFI, make sure you upgrade to the latest one from your motherboard manufacture website. Refer to the motherboard instruction manual on how to do it.

-> Device on the motherboard might be preventing it. In the UEFI/BIOS disable the device, and you should be good.

-> Contact your motherboard manufacture for technical support, as the motherboard might be broken.

-> Contact your Power Supply manufacture for technical support, as maybe the motherboard works fine, but the powerr supply refuses to acknowledge the call to turn off.
