From what I was told by some employees, B&H no longer processes film. No costco near me, and the pharmacies around me no longer want to develop anything larger than 135.

I used to use Kodak TX400, and Fuji Velvia. I want to start shooting them again, but when I stopped going to school, I lost access to said cameras. I'm saving up to buy a MF film camera.

Honestly don't know yet. We used to use a few twin lens reflexes like the Rolliflex in school, but i've been looking at 500C series Hasselblad's. Partly due to the fact that there are a crap ton of 500C series cams out there and the dream of one day owning a digital MF (they make a digital back for the 500C's).

I agree. At the 7K + price point the 645Z is a very difficult bargain to ignore, especially since there's vintage lenses available that are still pretty damned sharp. I'm even considering the 645D despite it having a CCD sensor and lacking a few non-essentials present on the 645Z

I assume that the €9000 is taking into account VAT and other import taxes that we probably dont see stateside.

I'm not aware of the prices as new, but for what I've seen on second-hand markets, I've seen a few Sony A7 going for ~900€, even cheaper than Canon 6D for crying out loud.

I guess the price drops could be due to Sony releasing newer ones in quick succession, but... Even the earlier ones are great, and getting surprisingly cheap for pro-level gear.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

I've seen the D for less than $4000 already and it's difficult to ignore at that price point. Phillip Bloom has too many cameras lol, but I love his work. His reviews are so extensive. Didn't he pick up the 645Z to test its video features and ended up using it for stills?

For the price the A7 is a bargain. If only Sony had more native lenses for the camera.

yeah, it was a loner from B&H, is doesnt have many cameras, mostly an A7s, and an FS7 (and maybe something else cant remember)

most of the cameras he reviews are ones he borrows long term from B&H or someone and just seems to hold on to them :D yeah I mean hes not really a stills person, but the stills were SO nice that its pretty much all he used it for haha

Its a shame. Sony would have had deeper market penetration if they didnt have the DT, A, E, and FE mounts; a ton of native lens mount adapters; weird camera quirks (things only working in specific modes); and competitively priced high end glass (not all of their high end glass is good). Also think that they experiment way too much and they had too many proprietary accessories. Their sensors and tech are really really good, just needs to be better implemented.

This reminded me of something. I find it a little funny how Sony RX100 (1st gen) can be bought for around 400€, but RX100 II is 160€ more for mere slight upgrades, and done again with RX100 III... I wish the prices dropped a little more for last gen ones, hurts my wallet a little just seeing them (yay for student budgets...) and can't find any second-handed that doesn't cost as much as new ones. I guess gotta wait for more of suck it up.

Yeah... Their cameras are great and they are actually willing to take risks by trying new things (unlike what other major brands seem to do), but the lack of compatible lenses just kill them.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

That's how people felt with the A7, it took less than a year for the S to come out, and a few months after than for the 2 to release

yeah it seems they are super dedicated to FE though its just taking its time

Looking at the 35 f2.8 but beyond that im probably getting the A mount Tamron 24-70 f2.8, and some Samyang cine f1.4 or t1.5 primes for video

Or Might grab some Canon glass to force me to buy a 5dmk3 or c100 (or similar)

yeah that was pretty shitty

SNIP

yeah though the rx100 3 is miles better than the first gen, in every way pretty much

yeah sony are great at innovation and pushing the market, the RX1 springs to mind
