Questions regarding information sercurity

Bosen

Hi, I would like to sell my current computer without the hard disk. Does this make me safe? Would the buyer still be able to recover my data some how from the remaining parts? Thanks!

1. Wipe a drive.

2. Take a magnet and run it all over the HDD.

Taking a magnet and running over that HDD will take any information away.

Just to be safe, I prefer to sell without the HDD. I tot there might be some other way of storing data. Like how some accs like steam recognises your computer even after changing hard disk(no need to do authentication) .
